White stone statue of a nymph with a dog in Jardin des Tuileries.
Nymphe is a work by Louis Auguste Lévèque (1866). It is directly across of one of his other works ''Diane''.
The unclothed nymph is walking through the reeds, looking at the water. Her wavy hair is put up in an empire bun. At her side is a hunting dog, which is sniffing the ground.

Bronze statue of a man with outstretched arm on the terraces of the Orangerie at Jardin des Tuileries.
L' Ombre (The Shadow) is a bronze statue by Auguste Rodin (1880).
The sculpture is also referred to as Adam as it, as well as the statue next to it - called Eve were life-size sculptures also used for his project "Hell's Door" (La Porte de l'enfer).
Adam is a muscullous man standing with one foot on a rock. His half open left hand is outstretched towards the ground.
His head is bend and follows the direction of the hand.
His right arm is slightly angled and his hand is half closed.

The statue representing Oceania by Mathurin Moreau is in front of Musée d' Orsay.
The black cast iron statue is one of several commissioned in 1877 for the 1878 world exhibition. It stood on the terraces of the first palace at the Trocadero. In 1986 it was moved outside the Musée d'Orsay.
Oceania is sitting on a rock. She has some fur draped over her right leg but is otherwise unclothed. Her shoulder-length hair is held in place by a headband.
At her right side sits a little kangaroo.

The artist's hair is held in a bun on the top of his head, decorated with a bone.
He wears a shaped full beard and a loin cloth.
Paul Richer, who is mainly known for his medical drawings, created this bronze statue of 'The First Artist' (Le premier artiste) in 1890. It is placed outside the museum of natural history.
